Biography
Siobhan Jones is a British fused glass artist and designer. Since establishing her studio in 1996, her work has included private commissions, architectural glass, public art, teaching, jewellery, design and memorial glass.
After graduating in Three Dimensional Design in Glass from the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Siobhan set up her own studio in 1996. She began by developing her own collections while also taking on commissions for private, commercial and public clients.
From the very beginning, memorial glass formed part of Siobhan's work and was originally known as Ashes in Art. She began receiving requests to create glass pieces containing cremation ashes, including individual bowls, necklaces and other personal pieces alongside her wider work as a glass artist. The memorial work grew through recommendations and word of mouth, while Siobhan continued with architectural commissions, public projects, exhibitions, teaching and her other glass work.
By 2012, the studio had become increasingly busy and Ashes in Art was growing significantly. It was also becoming clear that work involving people's loved ones' ashes needed a very different approach from Siobhan's wider art and design business. After several years of planning and considerable investment, Ashes in Art began operating independently from Siobhan's designer glass business in 2016 as a dedicated specialist operation. It was incorporated as Ashes in Art Ltd in 2017 and later renamed Ashes With Art Ltd. The business continues today as Ashes With Art.
During the same period, Siobhan was taking on larger commissions and public projects. One of the biggest projects of her career has been Windows on the Pier in Worthing. Beginning in 2014 from an original idea by Paul Holden of the Worthing Journal, the project developed over more than a decade, with Siobhan creating the glasswork for the windows that now form the completed gallery along Worthing Pier. The project was completed in 2026.
More than 30 years after opening her first studio, Siobhan is still designing, making, teaching and taking on commissions. What has changed considerably is the scale of everything around her. The businesses that grew from that original studio now have a large and talented team of glass makers, jewellers, CAD designers, production, operations and customer-care staff.
Siobhan's career has therefore become about much more than her own work as a glass artist. She is a designer, teacher and entrepreneur who has built businesses around the skills and ideas that began in her studio in 1996.

It isn't a complete record and was last substantially updated in 2016. Siobhan has continued to undertake commissions and other work ever since — the studio has generally been rather better at making the work than keeping the website up to date.
